First
class results are obtained each year in the Junior and Leaving Certificate
exams. Our proud record of achievement across all areas of school life is
reflected in the high level of involvement of all our students on various
committees, clubs and teams. Our students occupy real leadership roles as
prefects, student council members and Meitheal leaders and are an
excellent example of the great quality of our young people to-day.
This
school is about everyone doing their best. We have high expectations for our
school and we expect our students to have high expectations of themselves in
all aspects of school work and behaviour.
St. Mary’s is very proud of its pupils both past
and present, its history, tradition and past achievements. It recognises the
immense contribution of the Mercy Sisters, Teaching Staff, Students, Parents
and the Local Community in bringing the school to the forefront of educational
and sporting achievements in the town, county, country and further afield.
St. Mary’s is also very conscious of current educational reform and change.
We are committed to embracing new thoughts and processes and we will continue
to be key players in educational debate and innovation for the greater good of
all our stakeholders.
St.
Mary's has an excellent pastoral care programme which considers the needs of
each individual student and provides support, advice, and assistance to all.
We are very proud of our school and what it has to offer. We hope
that you enjoy visiting our site and we look forward to helping you with any
enquiries that you may have.
Sincerely yours,
Gene O'Sullivan
